More Evidence
I have further proof of my advancing age.
I was seeing a patient earlier this week for routine prenatal care in my office. The patient was in her early 20's.
Patient - Are you single?
Me - Yes. Why do you ask?
Patient - I want to hook you up with my mother.
what's next??? ......"I want to hook you up with my grandmother"

AFC/ NFC
Even though I live in the city hosting the AFC championship game (GO COLTS). I'm heading to Chicago tonite in order to go to the NFC championship game (??) . No, I'm not a huge Bears fan but my buddy has club seat season tickets at Soldiers Field and invited me. I see no reason to turn them down.
But once my balls start to freeze off, I'm gonna wish I was in the nice warm RCA Dome!!!

The benefits/disadvantages of being a physician
I was standing on my bathroon sink the yesterday changing a light bulb in my bathroom. I jumped down to the floor and my left heel caught the corner of the vanity ledge (OUCH !!! you %#!@#)
I think the heel is broken.
I not gonna waste my time going to a doctor. The orthopedic surgeon will review the X-ray, say " it's broken" Tell me to avoid direct pressure/impact to the heel, send me out the door and charge me $2000 for the visit.
I'll save my insurance company the 2k (not to mention my co-pay for the visit)
Peace

Wants vs. Needs
36 years of age tends to lend you the benefit of life observation.
the definition of Needs and wants
Wants - house, cars, large salary
Needs - family, close friends, meaningful relationship

Pissed OFF!!!!!!!
I'm really furious at my real estate situations. I feel that my camp is being more reactive instead of proactive and it costing tons of money. I paying monthly for an empty condo and it's driving me crazy!!!!!
sorry, I had to vent to someone.

Farewell 2 DC
I had a great visit with my folks and friends. My grandmother with worsening Alzheimers remembered me amost immediately when I visited her (which was the highpoint of my vacation).
I went to dinner with some of my friends last night in Bethesda Maryland. It's always nice to catch up with my peeps. But it sucks that all my crazy/wild friends from the past are becoming more and more settled (and responsible) in their lives. Dinner conversation has shifted over the years from clubbing and getting girls to wives, children, careers, investments and retirement. I guess when I return to town, I expect things to remain the same and I'm always amazed and a little dissapointed at the radical change.
Well, it's back to the Midwest and the constant grind.

Useful
I've been back and forth between my parent's house and my sister's house, helping them place password protection on their wireless internet services.
It's nice to know I'm good for something other than just performing pelvic exams.
Today, I'm also going to visit my grandparents in a long term care facility. My grandmother has senile dementia and my grandfather suffered from a stroke several years ago. They could no longer care for themselves at home.
This is the first time I've seen them in almost a year. My grandfather is still as sharp as ever, but I'm worried my grandmother won't remember me.

Happy New Years Everyone!!!!!!
I'm here in D.C. with my Fam.
My sister and I went to the South West waterfront Wharf yesterday and purchased over 15 pounds of Alaskan Snow crab legs.
How pathetic is that :-)
