Test Results

Wow, I didn't realize I had so many grammatical errors in my last post. Maybe I was having a mini-stroke.

Just Joking

All my test results were negative. There were no aneursyms or brain tumors detected. My headaches have also significantly improved. I still think it's strange to be on the patient side of things. It's the "unknown factor" that is the most frightening. All of the individuals that I dealt with were very kind and understanding. I hope this experience has taught me to be a better physician. I feel that medical healthcare providers are so extremely overworked at times that we begin to view the patients as a commodity instead of a person. That has to change.

The Other Side

It's incredibly weird being on the other side. Being poked and prodded. I had my test done yesterday for my headaches. A CT scan with and angiogram . I needed an IV in order to have the procedure done. I very big f--king IV. Not to mention the crap that was injected into was highly noxious. I also had to lay still in an MRI machine for almost an hour and not move a muscle or even blink..LOL. I should have the results today.

Total Breech Extraction

Last night on call, we delivered 2 sets of twins. The first set was by C-section. The second set was delivered vaginally. Twin A (1st) was delivered from a vertex (head first) presentation. Twin B (2nd) was delivered from a breech (butt first) presentation. Immediately after delivery of the first twin, we grabbed the feet of 2nd twin before breaking the amniotic sac. Then I instructed the resident to pull with gentle traction on the feet and legs, combined with additional maneuvers to deliver the torso, arms and head. My blood pressure always goes up when the head in being delivered, because I'm aware of reports of premature fetuses being decapitated from head entrapment (the head becomes stuck in the cervix). The delivery went extremely well. It's always amazing to see a baby being born feet first.

Speaking of my Blood Pressure, I go to see my doctor today. I'm still getting those pounding headaches and I starting to become worried.

Severe Headaches!!!! Ouch

The other day I was driving my Saleen and another car cut me off in an attempt to race me. I had to swerve aggressively in order to avoid running into the other car. Immediately after that episode, I developed a severe pounding headache like nothing I had ever experience before. The headache was so severe that I had to pull into a nearby parking lot and stop driving. All I could think of at the time was that I had an uncle at a very young age that died of a stroke. I do have high blood pressure, but I'm on medication. I haven't checked my BP in a while. After about 10 minutes the headache subsided but my head was fairly sore for the rest of the day.

I think I need to pay a visit to my doctor??
