Financial Future
Because I'm single without children, I've never thought strongly about my financial future. I sat down today with 2 gentlemen from Northwestern Mutual to discuss future retirement and investment options. When asked about my prospective retirement age and how much $$$$ I would like to retire with; I hesitated to give a realistic answer. There are so many variables that factor into that equation. I found myself overwhelmed. Will I be married, Will I have children, Will I be healthy. I'm in my late 30's and I've avoided serious financial planning to this point in my life. But now is the time to stop living like a rockstar and consider the realistic possibility that I may live past 50:-)

My First Performance
I received an A in my Guitar 101 class!!!!
There's about 8 people in my class. We all took turns performing. As luck would have it I was the last one to go. The teacher announced before the performance that we did not have to sing...but we could sing for extra credit. None of my classmates sang. But I decided to give it a try. I knew the chords for my song so well,I didn't think singing would be difficult. I performed 2 verses from Eric Claptons Old Love (Unplugged). I probably sounded like a cat being choked to death. But at least it was entertaining....lol. A few of my classmates came up to me after my performance and told me they were impressed.
They were probably lying;-)

God's Alarm
I had a difficult minimally invasive hysterectomy scheduled for Friday morning. I need a new alarm clock because my current alarm won't go off again after I depress the snooze button. The latter has caused me to extremely over-sleep in the past.
I went to bed Thursday night. My alarm went off Fri at 5am. I hit the snooze praying I wouldn't oversleep and be late to the surgical case I was scheduled to perform. As luck has it, my alarm did not go off again. I was in danger of oversleeping again and getting a page from the OR informing me my patient was under anesthesia and they were waiting on me to arrive! (with me still in bed).
Suddenly at 5:30am I was harshly awakened by my bed shaking. Initially I thought I was having a seizure. But I soon realized all the furniture in the room was shaking. I quickly turned on the TV and tuned into a news station to discover the entire Midwest region had been effected by a 5.4 earthquake. I subsequently jumped in the shower and made it to my surgery on time. I'm off to Best Buy today to purachse a new alarm clock today.
Thanks God:-)

Let's Play a Game
What's more pathetic 1) The fact that I'm in a club frequented by young 20-somethings 2) The fact the the bathroom attendant in this club instantly remembers me from SEVERAL years ago when I used to frequent the club, or 3) the fact that the said bathroom attendant is still working there??

Now is the Time to Say Goodbye
I drove it maybe once or twice last years after a 2 year restoration/extortion:-O
I see no reason to keep it any longer.
It's time for Ebay this spring.
I keep trying to convince myself not to sell it. But I must. My credit cards debt must be eliminated;-)

Good Quote
I actually took something positive away from the movie "Turistas"
If any of you have ever seen this movie, it's about several unfortunate young tourist backpacking thru the Brazilian jungle and falling prey to an illegal organ procurement ring.
Good Quote:
When life gives you an opportunity:
The best thing you can do is the right thing.
The next best thing you can do is the wrong thing.
The worst thing you can do is nothing.
When I lose my motivation , I keep repeating this to myself:-)
